Just a few minutes from the Agadir city center stands an intriguing landmark. The Kasbah ruins are a historical heritage site that bears witness to a tragic event while preserving the history of an extraordinarily beautiful citadel.
A long time ago, a grand citadel stood here, featuring cozy streets, homes, a bustling marketplace, a mosque, and more. Over the years, the Kasbah faced numerous challenges, including uprisings and battles. However, its most devastating moment came in 1960, when this historic hilltop site was destroyed by a powerful earthquake.
The earthquake completely leveled the city and most of the fortress, leaving behind the ruins we see today. The city itself had to be rebuilt from the ground up. Despite its tragic history, these ruins remain one of Agadir’s most popular attractions. Visitors are drawn not only by the site’s historical significance but also by the breathtaking panoramic views from the hilltop, offering stunning vistas of Agadir, its bay, and the surrounding countryside.

The park opened its doors relatively recently in 2015.
As you walk along the pedestrian paths, you can observe these reptiles and their daily activities in a well-designed environment: some are eating, others are swimming, while still others are basking in the sun. Crocodile feeding sessions, which attract significant visitor interest, are regularly organized.
