Austria has a temperate, alpine-influenced climate with warm summers and cold winters. From June to August, daytime temperatures in cities such as Vienna and Salzburg usually range between 23–27°C (73–81°F), while evenings are cooler, often dropping below 15–18°C (59–64°F). In alpine valleys, summers are slightly fresher, offering perfect conditions for hiking and mountain exploration.

Winters, from December to February, are much colder, with average daytime highs around 0–5°C (32–41°F) in lowland areas, while mountain regions often fall well below freezing.
